My Success Must Create Success for Others — Here’s How

There’s a question I’ve carried with me for years :

What’s the point of personal success… if it doesn’t open doors for others ?

I believe success should be a bridge — not a fortress.

A source of shared opportunity — not just personal comfort.

A rising tide that lifts more than one boat.

That’s why I live by a simple principle:

“My success must create success for others!”

This isn’t just a catchy phrase for me.

It’s a commitment.

A promise.

A personal compass guiding every business move, partnership, and conversation I have.

A Morning Like Any Other… Or Was It ?

It’s 6:30 a.m. in Douala.

The city is still stretching awake.

Street vendors are setting up their stalls.

The air is thick with that mix of humidity and possibility that every entrepreneur in Central Africa knows so well.

I’m at my desk before sunrise — coffee in hand — reviewing plans for Africa Venture Group (AVG).

Our mission? Bold. Ambitious. Urgent.

We’re not just building a company.

We’re building an ecosystem that will connect ideas, talent, and capital — across Cameroon, Central and West Africa — so that innovation becomes the norm here.

Why? Because I’ve seen what’s possible when we invest in our own potential.

And I’ve also seen what’s lost when we don’t.

The Challenges That Keep Me Awake… and Wake Me Up

Let’s be honest :

Building in Africa — especially when aiming to scale across multiple countries — isn’t for the faint of heart.

There are infrastructure gaps.

Regulatory hurdles.

Talent retention struggles.

And yes — the occasional voice telling you, “It can’t be done.”

But every morning, I start anyway.

Because I know that if we want to change the narrative, we have to build the story ourselves.

No one is coming to hand us the future we deserve — we must create it.

Where This Drive Comes From

My journey didn’t start in a boardroom.
It started with a vision — shaped by over 16 years of international experience across 15 countries.
I’ve been a consultant. A strategist. A project leader.
I’ve worked with global giants like Schlumberger and guided entrepreneurs with nothing more than a dream and a notebook.

What I learned is this :
The gap between ambition and achievement isn’t as wide as it looks — but crossing it requires structure, mentorship, and the right network.
That’s the gap Africa Venture Group was built to close.

Africa Venture Group : More Than a Business

When people ask me what AVG does, I resist giving them a standard “corporate pitch.”

Yes, we deliver IT-as-a-Service.
Yes, we drive digital transformation.
Yes, we launch and scale ventures.

But at our core?
We are architects of possibility.

We take a startup in Douala and help it talk to the world.
We connect a bold idea in Yaoundé with the right investor in Lagos.
We aim to help a young professional in Bamako get the skills — and the confidence — to compete globally.

The Expansion Vision : Central & West Africa

Right now, my eyes are set on a challenge that excites me every day :
Expanding AVG beyond Cameroon into Lomé (Togo), Kigali (Rwanda), and Lagos (Nigeria) before the end of 2027.

Why these cities?
Because they’re not just markets — they’re gateways.
Each is a hub with its own unique ecosystem, and each can connect our network to even greater opportunity.

But expansion isn’t just about planting a flag in a new city.
It’s about embedding ourselves in the community, listening before acting, and building partnerships that last.

The Man Behind the Mission

For those meeting me for the first time, here’s the short version:
I’m Yannick Kounga — entrepreneur, strategist, and optimist by design.
Founder & CEO of Africa Venture Group, and several ventures under its umbrella:
EkoTech – delivering SMS marketing and digital engagement tools.
Immigration 360 Degré – guiding legal immigration pathways & diaspora investment.
MyDoc.cm – revolutionizing document management & archiving for African businesses.

My career has taken me from Africa to Europe, USA, the Middle East, and back — each chapter reinforcing my belief that Africa’s greatest export should be talent, innovation, and leadership, not just raw materials.
I’ve worked in oil & gas, IT, communications, and digital marketing.
I’ve advised both startups and multinationals.
I’ve connected dots others didn’t even see.

And through it all, I’ve measured success by one metric :
Did I help others win ?

Values That Shape My Leadership

When people work with me, they quickly learn that I lead with :

Integrity – No compromise on principles.
Dignity – Every interaction should elevate.
Service – Leadership means serving, not ruling.
Patience & Perseverance – Growth is a journey.
Courage – Take the risks others won’t.
Peace & Love – Humanity matters, even in business.

These values aren’t “nice-to-haves” — they are non-negotiables.

What Thought Leadership Means to Me

To me, thought leadership isn’t about having all the answers.

It’s about asking the right questions — and inspiring others to explore the answers together.

It’s about showing up consistently — especially when it’s hard.
It’s about sharing lessons learned — even when they came from failure.

It’s about building a legacy others can stand on.

The Call for Collaboration

I’m sharing this here because I believe This Platform is more than just a professional network.
It’s a community of builders, thinkers, and doers.

So here’s my invitation to you:
If you believe African innovation should lead on the world stage, let’s talk.
If you’re an entrepreneur, investor, policymaker, or changemaker — in Africa or the diaspora — I want to hear your story.

None of us can do this alone.

But together? We can rewrite the narrative.

Closing With Purpose

I started with a question, so I’ll end with one:
What could your success make possible for someone else?

Because at the end of the day, titles, revenues, and awards fade.
But the opportunities we create for others…
Those echo for generations.

No matter where I’m working — from Douala to Lagos to Kigali or Lome — I keep coming back to the same truth:
“My success must create success for others!”
